“Isa po ang Bataan sa peaceful provinces sa Central Luzon at nananatili po tayong insurgency-free since 2016,” Philippine National Police Bataan Provincial Director Col. Rommel Velasco said during the 1Bataan Inter-Agency Action Center (1BIAAC) Coordination meeting last February 3, at The Bunker.

1Bataan Inter-Agency Action Center is a border-control measure of the Province of Bataan which aims to house different agencies under one roof, in our entry and exit points as well as in ports, to keep peace and order before the realization of the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge.

To date, Hermosa, Morong, Mariveles, and Limay, are the identified municipalities for the construction of 1BIAAC for in-land gatekeeping while coordination is in the works for coastal security.

To further strengthen peace and order in the Province, concerned agencies also discussed the construction of covered checkpoints, path walks, command posts, telecommunication facilities and other infrastructure projects in Bataan.

Governor Joet Garcia led the meeting attended by the Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, Department of Public Works and Highways, Metro Bataan Development Authority, Provincial Engineer’s Office, and Armed Forces of the Philippines.
