Balanga commits ‘restorative’ justice to drug users

Balanga City Mayor Francis Anthony Garcia has committed ‘restorative’ justice’ to persons who use drugs (PWUDs) through inclusive initiatives which focus on their rehabilitation and reintegration into the mainstream society.

On his belated posting on Facebook, Mayor Garcia said he presented the city’s CARES Program during the 2nd National Justice Zone Summit held last June 4 in Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas, Pasig, Metro Manila. The mayor said the move is part of city government’s vision of compassionate and community-centered governance.

Organized by the European Union in the Philippines-Governance In Justice Program II (EU-GO JUST II), the summit brought together representatives from Justice Zones across the country.
