₱15-million mangrove project in Orani, strengthens environmental protection

The ₱15-million Tubo-Tubo Orani Mangrove Adoption and Protection Project, also known as Project TRANSFORM Baka1Bataan, will continue following the renewal of a partnership agreement among the Aboitiz Group, the Provincial Government of Bataan, and the Municipal Government of Orani, held at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Central Office.

The project aims to rehabilitate and protect mangrove ecosystems along the coastal areas of Orani, Bataan. These mangroves play a critical role in shielding communities from storm surges, preventing coastal erosion, sequestering carbon, and providing vital breeding grounds for marine life that sustain local fishing livelihoods.

Present during the ceremonial signing were Aboitiz Power President and COO Celso Caballero III, OIC PG-ENRO Officer Ralph C. De Leon, Congresswoman Gila Garcia representing Governor Joet Garcia, Tubo-Tubo Fisherfolk Association Chairman Rosanna Laxa, Acting Municipal Agriculturist Rizal Ali Tala, and Acting Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer Jayde Del Valle. With the call “Orani Natin, Maiba Naman!”, the project symbolizes a shared commitment to environmental sustainability and community resilience in the Province of Bataan.
