751 PDLs finish skills training

A total of 751 persons deprived of liberties (PDLs) from various jails in Central Luzon completed BPSU’s Hope Behind Bar (HBB) skills training program.

Based on a list provided by Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) Director for Extension and HBB project leader, Dr. Bernadeth Gabor, a total of 327 completed bread and pastry production skills training.

The PDL-graduates are from Angeles District Jail-Female Dormitory, Bataan District Jail-Female Dormitory, Bataan District Jail-Male. Dormitory, Cabanatuan District Jail, Camiling Municipal Jail,Guagua District Jail-Female Dormitory, Mariveles Municipal Jail, and Meycauayan Municipa Jail.
Other graduates were from Olongapo District Jail-Female Dormitory, Plaridel Municipal Jail-Female Dormitory, Plaridel Municipal Jail-Male Dormitory, San Jose Del Monte City Jail-Female Dormitory, San Jose District Jail, Talavera Municipal Jail, and Tarlac City Jail-Female Dormitory.

On the other hand, 424 completed the food processing skills training who are from Angeles District Jail-Female Dormitory, Bataan District Jail-Female. Dormitory, Bataan District Jail-Male. Dormitory, Cabanatuan District Jail-Female Dormitory, Cabanatuan District Jail-Male Dormitory, Camiling Municipal Jail, Dinalupihan Municipal Jail, Guagua District Jail-Female Dormitory, Guagua District Jail- Male Dormitory, Guimba District Jail, and Paniqui Municipal Jail.

Other graduates were from Plaridel Municipal Jail-Female Dormitory, Plaridel Municipal Jail-Male Dormitory, San Fernado Dístrict Jail-Female Dormitory,
San Fernado Dístrict Jail- Male Dormitory, San Jose Del Monte City Jail-Female Dormitory, San Jose District Jail, Talavera Municipal Jail, Tarlac City Jail-Female Dormitory, and Tarlac City Jail-Male Dormitory.

Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training Services Dr. Hermogenes Paguia said the PDLs also passed the Tesda assessment and are now NC2 holders.
BPSU President Dr. Greg Rodis who fully backs the multi-awarded HBB program including its expansion in Central Luzon attended the virtual graduation held on December 29 last year.
HBB is an in-prison skills development program through the University’s extension office that offers various technical-vocational courses to PDLs.
