Bataan towns join cleanup day

Thousands of municipal employees, government and non-government sectors collected hundreds of bags of garbage– plastic sachets, plastic bottles and bags, diapers, pieces cloth, cigarrete buts, pieces of woods, diapers, etc during the International Coastal Cleanup day last September 21. Similar activity was held elsewhere around the globe to clean beaches, coastal areas and waterways.

In Mariveles town, hundreds of employees including those from the Freeport Area of Bataan assigned themselves in various coastal areas with their garbage bags and brooms picking every piece of garbage on sight.

The same scenario was also witnessed in Orion town, another coastal town rich with marine products. In Abucay town, fisherfolks, more particularly the farmers joined the cleanup day with enthusiasm.

In Barangay Sta. Lucia, Samal barangay officials trooped to waterways and removed every bit of object that clog the canals.

In Hermosa town, municipal employees join the clean drive by targeting flood-prone villages where perennial flood occurs during incessant rains.
