Bataan 2nd District Representative Abet Garcia participated in the 2nd Quarter Meeting of the Regional Development Council (RDC) III last May 21, held at the DEPDev Regional Office 3 in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga. The lawmaker attended the session along with members of the Sectoral Committee on Development Administration (SCDA).
During the meeting, Rep. Garcia discussed significant provisions of two priority bills aimed at promoting economic growth and regional security. These include Senate Bill No. 2900, which proposes the establishment of a Special Defense Economic Zone within the Government Arsenal Defense Industrial Estate in Camp Gen. Antonio Luna, Limay, Bataan, and Senate Bill No. 2799, which seeks the creation of the Metro Bataan Development Authority.
According to Congressman Garcia, the proposed laws are designed to enhance economic activity and strengthen security, not only in Bataan but across Central Luzon. He emphasized that the initiatives will generate more opportunities in employment, business, and investment for residents in the region.
Garcia also highlighted the importance of sectoral meetings like the RDC III session in gaining broader support for legislative measures. He expressed optimism that such collaborations would pave the way for inclusive and sustained regional development.
The lawmaker concluded by thanking stakeholders and fellow officials for their continued commitment to the progress of the region, reiterating his dedication to pushing forward with development-oriented legislation.
