Who says the Philippine National Police (PNP’s) target are illegal drugs and crimes only? The local police also manifest its concern for the environment when it attended the recent 2nd quarter meeting of Protected Area Management Board for Bataan Natural Park through Police Col. Marites A. Salvadora, OIC Bataan Police Provincial Office.
The regional office of Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-3) and stakeholders from various government agencies, LGUs, and non-government organizations met on May 14, 2025 at the Balanga Plaza Hotel in Balanga City to discuss conservation efforts, sustainable management strategies, and protection initiatives for Bataan Natural Park (BNP), one of the province’s most vital ecological and biodiversity hubs.
The Bataan PNP in its Facebook page said the group reviewed updates on existing environmental programs, enforcement challenges, and upcoming projects aimed at promoting eco-tourism and forest preservation.
The BNP is home to diverse flora and fauna that serves as critical watershed for Central Luzon. Bagac town with its rich forest cover remains an eco-tourism hub of the province.
Bataan Gov. Joet Garcia had been supportive of DENR’s greening projects, conservation of “pawikan” and massive planting of mangrove trees in the province’s coastal areas.
