Farmers and Fisherfolk Congress 2025

Pursuant to Provincial Ordinance No. 09, series of 2025, also known as the Bataan Farmers’ and Fisherfolk’s Week Ordinance, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), in collaboration with the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV), is currently holding the Farmers and Fisherfolk Congress 2025 from May 19 to 22, 2025, at the Bataan Tourism Pavilion.

The 4-day event aims to recognize the outstanding contributions of farmers and fisherfolk to the continued economic development of Bataan.

Activities lined up for the event include exhibits of agri-aqua local products, technology demonstrations, skills competitions, seminars on sustainable farming and fishing practices, and recognition ceremonies for outstanding individuals and local government units in the agriculture and fisheries sector.

Present during the opening program were Governor Joet Garcia, Bataan 3rd District Congresswoman Gila Garcia, Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary for Rice Industry Development Engr. Christopher Morales, DA-RFO III Regional Executive Director Eduardo Lapuz, Provincial Agriculturist Engr. Johanna Dizon and Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Alberto Venturina.
