Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Rommel Francisco Marbil led the Oath-Taking and Donning of Rank Ceremony for newly promoted Lieutenant General Benjamin H. Silo Jr. on March 6, 2025, at Camp Crame.

PLTGEN Silo, who currently serves as the Commander of the Area Police Command – Eastern Mindanao, has held various key positions within the PNP throughout his career. Prior to his current role, he was the Director of the PNP Civil Security Group (CSG), where he launched an aggressive campaign against loose firearms ahead of the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections. He previously served as the Regional Director of Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) in the Davao Region, where he led the office to be recognized as the Best PNP Regional Office.

His leadership experience also includes serving as the Director of the Bataan Provincial Police Office and as Chief Directorial Staff of the Northern Police District in Metro Manila. Silo’s expertise in criminal investigations was honed during his tenure as Chief Investigator of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), where he played a key role in high-profile cases, including the AK-47 and Werfast investigations. He also served as Regional Chief of CIDG in both the Bicol Region and Central Luzon.

PGEN Marbil lauded Silo’s dedication and commitment to law enforcement, emphasizing that his promotion reflects the trust and confidence placed in him to take on greater responsibilities.

The ceremony reaffirmed the PNP’s commitment to recognizing exemplary leadership and strengthening its ranks for enhanced public service and security operations.
