To alleviate the impact of the El Niño phenomenon among farmers and fishermen in Bataan, Governor Joet Garcia led the distribution of financial assistance last August 19 among the said sector.

It would be remembered that recently, President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos. turned over Php 11 million from the national government to the Provincial Government of Bataan to support 1,124 beneficiaries, providing each with Php 10,000 in aid.

Said cash assistance aims to offer immediate relief, support essential purchases such as fertilizers and diesel, and enable them to recover and sustain their operations during these challenging times.

Governor Garcia emphasized the significance of this aid, stating, “Kahit papano sana po ito ay makatulong upang pambili ng pataba, diesel o mga kailangan upang maging maayos po ang ating pamumuhay. Maraming salamat po sa inyong sakripisyo, dahil sa inyo may nabibili pong pagkain ang ating mga kababayan.” Additionally, Gov. Garcia proposed applying for a Piso Account with Landbank to streamline future assistance. This initiative is intended to expedite the distribution process and eliminate the need for beneficiaries to collect their aid in person. Joining the Governor in the distribution were Provincial Treasurer Alice Magpantay and Provincial Agriculturist Engr. Joey Dizon.
