The first national edition of “Likha ng Bataeño” trade fair proved to be a success as 20 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from Bataan generated a total of ₱1.2 million in sales during the event held at Vista Mall Taguig.
Featured prominently were handmade products made from capiz shells, including miniature boats, calesas, and jeepneys, which caught the interest of institutional buyers. A total of 50 capiz boats, 30 calesas, and 30 jeepneys were sold during the five-day exhibit.
In a recent interview with Tess Magtanong of DTI Bataan, she said a capiz shell enterprise emerged as the top seller, followed by Red Journey Bags in second place and Willy’s Cashew Products in third. The event showcased the creativity and quality of products made by entrepreneurs from Bataan, who are now gaining broader exposure in the national market.
The successful participation of Bataan’s MSMEs was made possible through the support of the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO) of the Bataan Provincial Government and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bataan led by Provincial Director Eileen Ocampo. The next “Likha ng Bataeño” exhibit is scheduled to take place at Starmall Edsa-Shaw from June 25 to 29.
