Mariveles Councilor Susan Madla-Murillo wants to boost local tourism for economic gain.

“Nagpadala na ako ng inventory sheet sa bawat barangay para sa mga tourist spots, products, establishments na mayroon sa bawat barangay upang maisama sa pag-aaral na gagawin para sa Mariveles Tourism Code”, she said during the recent Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Tourism hearing of which she is the chairperson.

The Committee is currently in the process of reviewing the municipality’s tourism code to improve it and adapt to current situation.

Murillo discussed with other members of the Committee proposals that can be included in the new tourism code.

The creation of the Mariveles Tourism Council to be chaired by Atty. Marife Andal-Concepcion, wife of Mayor AJ Concepcion, was also tackled. Murillo said Mariveles has a lot to offer when it comes to tourism and she wants more tourists and excustionists to visit.

Mariveles is endowed with beautiful rock formations, mountain trails, bike trails, breathtaking sceneries, seas and beaches, and remarkablle historical sites. Her desire to improve tourism is sync with the vision of Mayor AJ Concepcion and Vice Mayor Lito Rubia.
