President Bongbong Marcos bestowed the 2022 Civil Service Commission (CSC) Pag-asa Award National (Group Category) to Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) Community-Based Rice-Mushroom Technology and Innovations for Sustainable Development headed by Project Leader Dr. Rina Paguia during a ceremony held at the Malacanang Palace a week ago.
Aside from Paguia, awarded members of the BPSU project were Study Leader Christian Balba and Staff Mirasol Macaranas Rosano. Paguia is the BPSU Abucay Campus Extension and Training Services Chairperson.
CSC said that the BPSU project uplifted the lives of rice farmers in Bataan by introducing and promoting an integrated farming system approach through mushroom production, vermin composting, and off-season vegetable.
An annual activity of the CSC, the Honor Awards Program (HAP) aims to recognize and reward public service exemplars.
For 2022, there were ten recipients of the Dangal ng Bayan Awards and six CSC Pag-asa awardees.
Presidential Lingkod Bayan Awardees were announced on the spot.
