The Social Security System (SSS) Balanga Branch participated in the simultaneous Luzon-wide Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) operation held on Friday. The team conducted enforcement visits to 10 delinquent business establishments located in the towns of Hermosa and Dinalupihan.
Leading the operation were SSS Balanga Branch Head Joel Y. Villafuerte and Acting Assistant Branch Head Arleane M. Delas Alas, joined by AMS Head Head Victor S. Villanueva and other branch personnel.
During the operation, show cause orders were served to the employers, reminding them of their duty to regularly remit SSS contributions for their employees. Villafuerte pointed out that failure to comply within 15 days could result in legal action. “Non-remittance of contributions is a serious violation of workers’ rights to social security and benefits,” Villafuerte added.
Acting Assistant Branch Head Delas Alas added that delinquent employers may face imprisonment and will be required to settle their contribution delinquencies along with applicable penalties.
The SSS Balanga Branch reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding employee welfare through continued participation in RACE operations and other enforcement activities.
