Street lighting through solar power

The municipal government of Morong, “host” to mothballed Bataan Nuclear Power Plant is going to light its street through solar power.

Mayor Cynthia L. Estanislao said the municipal government utilized solar power to at least minimize power consumption. The power of solar energy is now being utilized by Abucay municipal government. Mayor Estanislao said the “solarization” of the municipal building may be done in the future when the local budget is.sufficient to install the system. “Huwag muna ngayon at kulang pa budget natin,” she said.

Morong, with a population of more or less 37,000 ìs considered a tourism hub owing to its beautiful beach resorts. The Pawikan Conservation Center and Anvaya Cove have become tourist attractions that draw educators and environmentalists. The mayor said the economic situation in her municipality is stable following all-out support from the provincial government, different agencies and the Department of Trade and Industry through its “Negosyo Center.”
