Businesses in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) continue to grow. Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) reported that out of the 153 FAB registered enterprises, 89 are actively operating by the end of 2024. It said the manufacturing sector remains the largest, making up 48.3 percent of active businesses followed by estate developments at 13.5 percent.
AFAB stated it is setting its strategic direction to expand the FAB economy by attracting more businesses. It also said the growing interest from international investors additionally strengthens FAB’s position as a globally competitive investment hub. Sixty two percent of active businesses in FAB are owned by Filipinos followed by Korean investors at 15 percent.
Other investors are from countries such as United Kingdom, China, United States, Japan, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Germany, Bahrain, France, Poland, and Pakistan.
