This coming November 16, all roads lead to the sprawling Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) in Mariveles, for the 5150 Triathlon Season. FAB will host the first Olympic-distance triathlon.

The occasion is in partnership with IRONMAN Group’s Sunrise Events Inc. This marks a historic first for Bataan and a significant step in opening FAB as a sports tourism venue, said the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB). AFAB Administrator and CEO Hussein P. Pangandaman said in a statement: “We are thrilled to welcome the prestigious 5150 Triathlon to FAB.”

“This event reflects our strong belief in FAB’s capacity to become a hub for world-class facilities, beautiful landscapes, and strong community spirits and a catalyst for economic activity and tourism growth in Bataan,” Pangandaman added.

He also said, “With Mariveles’ ideal blend of scenic coastal roads, lush greenery and top-tier amenities, the FAB is poised to become a premier destination for triathletes.”
