Bataan 2nd District Representative Albert Garcia and Limay Mayor Richie David led the inauguration and soft-launching of the first Kadiwa store in Region 3 on March 13, 2025, at Limay Park, Brgy. Reformista.
The Kadiwa store is a national government initiative aimed at providing affordable and high-quality goods, particularly agricultural products, directly to consumers. It helps farmers sell their produce without middlemen, allowing them to get better prices while offering the public fresh products at lower costs. The program supports local farmers and promotes food security while making essential items more accessible to communities.
In March 2023, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. launched the Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) in Limay, and in March 2024, Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel turned over a check for the Kadiwa Store to the late Limay Mayor Nelson David.
Said inauguration was attended by the Assistant Secretary for High-Value Crops and Sagip Saka Act Deputy Spokesperson of DA Atty. Joycel Panlilio, Regional Technical Director for Operations Dr. Arthur Dayrit, Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division Chief Carmencita Nogoy, Tourism Council President Grace David, Vice Mayor Sarah David, Sangguniang Bayan members, Provincial and Municipal Agriculturist Offices, Punong Barangay, cooperatives, farmers, and fishermen.
